Justice Gurvinder Pal Singh, notified as an Additional Judge of the Delhi High Court

New Delhi: The Union Government on Monday (October 5) notified the appointment of Judicial Officer Gurvinder Pal Singh as an Additional Judge of the Delhi High Court.

The announcement was made by Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal on X. The notification reads:

“In exercise of the power conferred by the Constitution of India, after consultation with Chief Justice of India, the President is pleased to appoint Shri Gurvinder Pal Singh, Judicial Officer as an Additional Judge of the Delhi High Court.”

Gurvinder Pal Singh Appointment: Background

The Supreme Court Collegium had approved his name on September 10, 2026, as part of its recommendation of eight Judicial Officers for elevation to the Delhi High Court. The other seven Judicial Officers recommended in the same batch were appointed earlier, and the notification for Gurvinder Pal Singh followed on Monday.

With his appointment, the working strength of the Delhi High Court stands at 51 Judges against a sanctioned strength of 60.
