New Delhi: Gurvinder Pal Singh was sworn in as an Additional Judge of the Delhi High Court on Wednesday, taking the Court’s working strength to 50 judges.
The appointment
The Central Government notified the appointment on October 5, and Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal announced it on X. The notification stated that the President, after consultation with the Chief Justice of India, was pleased to appoint Shri Gurvinder Pal Singh, Judicial Officer, as an Additional Judge of the Delhi High Court.
The Collegium recommendation
The Supreme Court Collegium had approved the name on September 10, 2026 along with those of seven other judicial officers recommended for the Delhi High Court. His formal notification followed in October.

Why the swearing-in matters
