The evening, as the petitions tell it
The petitions concern the evening of the day on which Rahul Gandhi and other INDIA bloc leaders marched to the Supreme Court Registry, in the afternoon, to file a petition against the Election Commission of India (ECI) over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. According to the petitions, the leaders and their followers entered the premises through Gate B at around 7 PM.
Those said to have been present with followers include Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge and Priyanka Gandhi, Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav and Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav. The petitions allege that a large crowd then gathered within the Court’s precincts and created a ruckus.
