A Patna court extended interim protection from arrest for educator Faisal Khan, popularly known as Khan Sir, in a case linked to an alleged firing incident at his coaching institute. The protection will continue until June 30 after submission of an updated case diary.

A court in Patna has extended the interim protection from arrest granted to educator Faisal Khan, popularly known as “Khan Sir”, in connection with a case related to an alleged firing incident at his coaching institute.

The court’s order allows Khan Sir to continue enjoying protection from any coercive action until the next date of hearing, which has been fixed for June 30. The development came after the investigating agency submitted an updated case diary before the court. The matter has now been listed for further arguments.

The case relates to an incident reported in early June, when Khan Sir’s coaching institute was allegedly attacked and vandalised by a group of unidentified individuals. Following the alleged attack, police claimed that security personnel deployed at the institute opened fire during the confrontation.

The incident led to the registration of a First Information Report (FIR), in which Khan Sir was also named as an accused. Following the FIR, Khan Sir approached the court seeking protection from arrest, and on June 9, the court granted him relief by directing authorities not to take coercive action against him.

During the latest hearing, the investigating officer submitted an updated case diary containing details of the ongoing investigation. After considering the developments, the court adjourned the matter for arguments and continued the interim protection granted to Khan Sir.

His lawyer, Arvind Kumar Mouar, informed reporters about the proceedings and said that the investigation records had been placed before the court.

His lawyer Arvind Kumar Mouar told reporters,

“The updated case diary has been submitted by the investigating officer. The matter has been listed for arguments on Tuesday, and the ‘no coercive action’ order against Khan Sir will remain in force till then. The final hearing is expected to take place on that day,”

The lawyer further stated that another matter involving Khan Sir’s security guards, allegedly connected with the same incident, has also been scheduled for hearing on Tuesday. The case against the guards relates to the alleged firing during the incident at the coaching centre.

According to Khan Sir’s legal team, he has been cooperating with the authorities and responding to the investigation. “Khan Sir is cooperating with the police and the investigating officers,” Mouar said.

The court is expected to hear detailed arguments on the matter during the next hearing. The continuation or modification of the interim protection will depend on the submissions made by both sides and the material placed before the court. Meanwhile, the investigation into the alleged vandalism and firing incident remains ongoing.
