A Patna court has reserved its ruling on Khan Sir’s anticipatory bail plea in a case linked to firing and vandalism at his coaching institute earlier this month. He has been named in an FIR under BNS and the Arms Act after moving court seeking protection from arrest.

A court in Patna reserved its ruling on the anticipatory bail application filed by educator and YouTuber Faisal Khan, popularly known as Khan Sir. He has been named in an FIR related to a firing and vandalism incident at his coaching institute earlier this month.

Khan Sir moved the court seeking protection from arrest after police registered a case against him under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Arms Act.

The FIR is linked to the June 2 incident at the Khan Global Studies Institute.

After the hearing, his lawyer, Arvind Kumar Mahuar, told reporters that submissions were concluded and the court reserved its order. He argued that the case against Khan Sir has no substance and appears aimed at damaging the educator’s public standing.

The defence contended that Khan Sir was not directly involved in the incident and alleged that he was implicated after people associated with his institute reportedly filed a complaint earlier against the director of another coaching centre.

The lawyer further claimed that the FIR was motivated and intended to defame Khan Sir.

The case concerns an alleged disturbance outside the coaching institute on June 2, when shots were reportedly fired into the air. Police registered an FIR at Kadamkuan Police Station under Section 109 of the BNS and related Arms Act provisions against three persons, including Khan Sir.

Investigators said a video recovered during the investigation shows two men allegedly firing weapons after vandalism at the institute. The two security guards visible in the footage were later identified and detained. Police seized the firearms allegedly used in the incident and sent them for forensic examination.

Separately, it has been reported that journalist Anjana Om Kashyap and TV Today Network have filed a defamation case before the Delhi High Court against Khan Sir for remarks allegedly made by him regarding her reporting on “star teachers.” The lawsuit seeks removal of allegedly defamatory content from online platforms and seeks damages of Rs.2 crore.

The court’s decision on Khan Sir’s anticipatory bail plea is still awaited.

The incident has sparked widespread discussion across Bihar’s coaching industry, where competition among educational institutions is often intense. Khan Global Studies, founded by Khan Sir, is one of the most well-known coaching centres in the State and attracts thousands of students preparing for competitive examinations.

As the investigation progresses, the anticipatory bail proceedings are expected to be closely watched.

The outcome may determine the next course of action in a case that has already generated considerable public interest due to Khan Sir’s popularity and influence among students. For now, the educator’s legal team maintains that the allegations are baseless and that the courts will ultimately vindicate his position.
