Allu Arjun moved Delhi High Court seeking protection against misuse of personality rights. Justice Tushar Rao Gedela indicated interim relief likely, citing unauthorized commercial exploitation across platforms and technologies.

Telugu superstar Allu Arjun urged the Delhi High Court to restrain multiple entities from using his name, voice, and likeness without authorisation for commercial purposes and impersonation. Hearing the matter, Justice Tushar Rao Gedela indicated that the court is likely to issue an interim order in Arjun’s favour.
The lawsuit focuses on alleged misuse of the actor’s personality rights, with his senior counsel, Swathi Sukumar, arguing that his identifiable characteristics are being exploited across a range of platforms and technologies.

Arjun’s counsel submitted that his personality traits are being misappropriated through merchandise sales featuring his image and signature, voice-cloning services, AI-based chatbots, and content generation of an obscene nature.
Sukumar pointed to specific conduct that she said could enable wrongdoing, stating:
“There is a ‘fake-call Pushpa’ app… What is frightening is that there is an app where you can speak to the AI likeness of this person. This is fertile ground for any kind of scam that involves the plaintiff. That’s the concern. It’s his face video calling…,”
The counsel also told the court that Arjun holds multiple registered trademarks relating to his name. She further contended that the proliferation of such tools and listings creates an environment where scams and impersonation could become easier and more widespread.
Counsel representing one of the defendant platforms said the merchandise in question has already been removed.

Lawyers appearing for Meta and Google also informed the court that several offending links—including apps have been taken down.
This is not the first time the Delhi High Court has been asked to protect personality and publicity rights in similar contexts. Several public figures such as actors Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, and Salman Khan, along with Sri Sri Ravi Shankar (Art of Living founder), journalist Sudhir Chaudhary, and podcaster Raj Shamani had earlier approached the court seeking similar protection, and the court granted them interim relief.
More recently, the high court also protected the personality rights of cricketer Gautam Gambhir and actors Sonakshi Sinha and Vivek Oberoi by granting interim orders.
