Trilegal advised Infrastructure Yield Plus funds on the transfer of 100% shareholding in Kudgi Transmission to Anzen India Energy Yield Plus Trust. Kudgi Transmission operates a key Karnataka power transmission network supporting electricity evacuation from NTPC’s Kudgi Thermal Power Plant.
Trilegal, one of India’s leading law firms, advised Infrastructure Yield Plus II, Infrastructure Yield Plus IIA, and India Infrastructure Yield Plus II (each acting through their investment manager, EAAA India Alternatives) on the transfer of 100% of the shareholding in Kudgi Transmission to Anzen India Energy Yield Plus Trust (acting through its investment manager, EAAA Real Assets Managers).
Kudgi Transmission owns, operates, and maintains the Kudgi Transmission Line, which was incorporated in August 2013 to support power evacuation from NTPC’s Kudgi Thermal Power Plant in Karnataka.
The project consists of a large interstate transmission network connecting major substations across Karnataka, and was commissioned on September 24, 2016. It operates pursuant to a long-term Transmission Services Agreement for a period of 35 years.
This transaction highlights sustained investor interest in operational infrastructure assets and highlights the increasing importance of infrastructure investment platforms within India’s energy and transmission ecosystem.
