The Delhi High Court has agreed to hear on October 9 the Indian Youth Congress plea against the Delhi Police’s refusal to permit a Jantar Mantar demonstration against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
The Youth Congress has moved the Delhi High Court against the Delhi Police’s October 1 refusal to permit a demonstration at Jantar Mantar against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, contending that a blanket ban violates Articles 19(1)(a) and 19(1)(b). The plea is likely to be heard next week.
A Delhi Sessions Court has stayed the Magistrate’s early morning order granting bail to IYC President Uday Bhanu Chib in the India AI Impact Summit protest case. Police had challenged the 3:30 AM bail order after alleging security breach and raising of “anti-national” slogans during the shirtless protest.
