The Delhi High Court referred a copyright dispute between Trimurti Films and B62 Studios over a song in Dhurandhar 2 to mediation. Observing the issue was largely financial, the court directed parties to resolve royalty and compensation through mediation.
The Supreme Court of India has transferred Ilaiyaraaja’s copyright suit from the Madras High Court to the Bombay High Court in the ongoing dispute with Sony Music Entertainment India.

A Mumbai civil court refused to stop the release of Shahid Kapoor-starrer O Romeo, holding that Hussain Ustara’s daughter failed to prove grounds for an injunction. The court noted delay in filing the suit and said the dispute appeared “purely monetary”, allowing the film’s release to go ahead.
The Delhi High Court has ordered the makers of Mask to either delete the song ‘Naguva Nayana’ or deposit Rs 30 lakh before any OTT or satellite release. The Court held that Saregama owns full copyright over the song and Ilaiyaraja’s licence is invalid.
Today, On 15th October, The Supreme Court sought a reply from Ilaiyaraaja Music N Management Pvt Ltd on Sony Entertainment’s plea to transfer a fresh copyright dispute from the Madras High Court to the Bombay High Court, following dismissal of a similar earlier case.
