Kangana Ranaut has moved an Agra MP-MLA court requesting postponement of the April 30 verdict in a case linked to her remarks on the farmers’ protest. Her plea claims the complainant got “undue opportunity” and seeks equal time for the defence before judgment.

Actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut has approached a special MP-MLA court in Agra, requesting that the court delay its verdict in a case related to her remarks during the farmers’ protest. The verdict in this matter is currently scheduled to be announced on April 30.

Through her lawyer, Anusuya Chaudhary, Ranaut filed an application stating that the complainant in the case was given “undue opportunity” by the court. The defence has argued that they should also be granted sufficient time to present their side properly. In the application, the defence has specifically asked the court to postpone the pronouncement of judgment so that fairness is maintained in the proceedings.

On the other hand, the complainant, advocate Ramashankar Sharma, has opposed this request. He pointed out that the hearing in the case has already been completed and that final arguments were heard on April 3. According to him, there is no need for any further delay since both sides have already presented their arguments before the court.

The timeline of the case shows that the court had originally fixed April 16 as the date to deliver its judgment. However, the decision was later postponed to April 30 after some additional documents related to the case were submitted before the court. Now, with this new application filed by the defence, the matter may see further delay depending on how the court responds.

The defence has argued that since the complainant was given an extra opportunity to present documents or arguments, the accused should also be given similar consideration before the final verdict is delivered. This, according to them, is necessary to ensure a fair trial.

The case itself is based on certain remarks allegedly made by Kangana Ranaut during the farmers’ protest. Following those remarks, advocate Ramashankar Sharma filed a complaint against her in the MP-MLA court in Agra. The matter has since gone through multiple hearings and has now reached the stage where the court is ready to deliver its judgment, unless it decides to accept the request for postponement.
