In the Honeymoon Murder case, a Meghalaya court sent three accused to judicial custody. They were arrested in Madhya Pradesh for allegedly hiding evidence related to the killing of Indore businessman Raja Raghuvanshi in May.

A Meghalaya court placed three individuals in judicial custody regarding the murder of Indore businessman Raja Raghuvanshi, which occurred in May.
The trio was apprehended in Madhya Pradesh for allegedly concealing evidence related to the case. On June 26, they had been taken into police custody for six days.

On Wednesday, property dealer Silome James received a 14-day judicial custody sentence, while flat owner Lokendra Tomar and security guard Balla Ahirwar were sentenced to seven days in jail, according to Assistant Public Prosecutor Tushar Chanda.
They are facing charges of obstructing justice and tampering with evidence at a flat in Indore, where Raghuvanshi’s wife Sonam and her boyfriend Raj Kushwaha both arrested in connection with the crime stayed after the incident involving three hired assassins.
A special investigation team (SIT) from the Meghalaya Police arrested Silome James for leasing the flat to Vishal, one of the three hitmen, where Sonam and Raj resided. The flat also contained jewellery and other items that Sonam took with her after the crime.
Sonam, Raj, and his associates Vishal Chauhan, Akash Rajput, and Anand Kurmi had been arrested earlier in the murder investigation.
Raja Raghuvanshi, who wed Sonam on May 11, was reported missing on May 23 during their honeymoon in Meghalaya. His dismembered body was discovered in a deep gorge in the Sohra area of East Khasi Hills district on June 2.
According to the police, the case began when Raja Raghuvanshi and his wife Sonam went “missing” during their honeymoon in the scenic Sohra (Cherrapunji) area of Meghalaya on May 23.
After days of search operations, Raja’s body was discovered on June 2 at the bottom of a deep gorge. The body was in a highly decomposed state, making initial identification difficult.
Police later found that the murder was not accidental, but a well-planned conspiracy. Investigators revealed that Sonam, along with her boyfriend Raj Kushwaha, allegedly conspired to eliminate Raja.
The plan was executed with the help of three contract killers Akash Rajput (19), Vishal Singh Chauhan (22), and Raj Singh Kushwaha (21) who were later arrested from various locations in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.
