SHILLONG: Today, on June 11, in a shocking development in the alleged honeymoon murder case, a court in Shillong has ordered that Sonam Raghuvanshi — accused of killing her husband Raja Raghuvanshi during their honeymoon in Meghalaya — and her four associates be kept in police custody for eight days.

The case has caught national attention due to the brutal nature of the crime, which reportedly occurred just days after the couple’s wedding while they were on a trip in Meghalaya.

Acting swiftly, the Meghalaya Police managed to bring the prime accused Sonam Raghuvanshi from Uttar Pradesh late Tuesday night under transit remand.

A senior police officer confirmed that her four accomplices, also accused in the case, were brought to Shillong from Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday.

The police had earlier sought a 10-day custody of all five accused in order to continue their investigation into the alleged murder.

Speaking to the media, East Khasi Hills District Superintendent of Police Vivek Syiem said,

“Police had sought a 10-day remand of all the accused. The court granted 8 days of police custody.”

With the accused now in police custody, the Meghalaya Police will proceed with intensive interrogation to uncover the exact sequence of events and the motive behind the alleged murder.

According to earlier reports, the incident may have involved a well-planned conspiracy by Sonam and her aides.
