Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Nishant Garg ordered Abhishek Gupta, Deshpal Singh, Tajinder Singh, Harvinder Singh, Sarabjit Singh, and Parvinder Singh to remain in custody until September 18.

New Delhi: On Wednesday(4th Sept), a Delhi court placed six individuals under 14-day judicial custody in connection with the drowning of three civil services aspirants at a coaching center basement in Old Rajinder Nagar.
Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Nishant Garg ordered Abhishek Gupta, Deshpal Singh, Tajinder Singh, Harvinder Singh, Sarabjit Singh, and Parvinder Singh to remain in custody until September 18.
The order was issued following an application by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which had earlier taken the accused into custody for four days.
The CBI informed the court that further custodial interrogation was unnecessary. The case involves allegations of criminal negligence, dereliction of duty, and corrupt practices, potentially implicating officials from local authorities.
Three students tragically lost their lives after being trapped for over four hours when water unexpectedly flooded the basement of a popular coaching center in West Delhi, police reported.
Visuals from Rajendra Nagar showed the basement of Rau’s IAS Study Circle completely submerged.
Fire brigade were dispatched to the scene to aid in the rescue efforts. The bodies of two female students were recovered hours after the operation began, while the body of the third student, a male, was found later that night.
Delhi Fire Chief Atul Garg stated that rescue operations are ongoing to locate any additional individuals who may still be trapped in the basement. Initially, he reported that only three students were believed to be trapped, while 30 others had managed to escape from the flooded basement.
