A 30-year-old judicial officer was found dead at his residence in South Delhi. Police suspect it may be a suicide. The incident took place at his home in Green Park, where his body was reportedly discovered inside a bathroom. The circumstances are currently being investigated.

The deceased, Aman Kumar Sharma, worked as the Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) for North-East Delhi at the Karkardooma Courts. His posting was confirmed by the Karkardooma Bar Association. Sharma was described as a promising officer in the Delhi Judicial Service, having joined in 2021 after completing his legal studies.

Police stated that the information was first given by his brother-in-law, Shivam, who contacted authorities and reported, “My brother has died by suicide in the bathroom at home.” Police teams reached the residence soon after. Sharma was found inside the bathroom and was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was declared “brought dead.”

Preliminary observations indicate that the death may have been caused by suicide, reportedly by hanging. Investigators said there were no immediate indications of foul play, though they have not ruled out any possibility and are examining all angles of the case.

Family members have claimed that Sharma had been experiencing emotional stress. According to a relative, Sharma contacted his father around 10 pm the previous night and said, “I am very troubled, it has become difficult for me to live.” The father, who was in Alwar at the time, left immediately for Delhi and arrived at the residence around midnight.

The family has also alleged that Sharma had faced personal issues at home for the last two months, especially related to his marital situation. They said his wife is also a judicial officer, and her sister is an IAS officer posted in Jammu. The father reportedly alleged that Sharma told him about mental harassment, stating, “Nidhi Malik has full control in the house, everything happens as per her.”

The family further alleged that when attempts were made to reach the wife’s parents, their phone numbers were found to be blocked. A relative from her side was reportedly asked to mediate, but later withdrew, saying he could not intervene.

On the night of the incident, the father’s account suggests that an argument took place inside the house. Sharma and his wife were reportedly in separate rooms. A relative, quoting the father, said, “She was speaking loudly and Aman was crying.”

Later, when Sharma could not be found, his phone was called. The call’s ringing was traced to the bathroom. The door was reportedly opened after it was accessed through a window by breaking the glass. Sharma was then found hanging inside, allegedly using a piece of cloth.

Sharma graduated from Symbiosis Law School in 2018 and entered the judicial service on June 19, 2021. During his service, he handled both civil and criminal matters across different postings. Since October 2025, he had been working full-time as the Secretary of the DLSA in Karkardooma for the North-East district.

The body has been sent for a postmortem examination. Police are also recording statements from family members and other individuals to determine how the incident unfolded. Officials have said the precise cause behind the suspected suicide has not been confirmed yet, and further details are expected as the investigation continues.
