UTTAR PRADESH: Today(on 27th June), Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized the essential role of the rule of law in fostering good governance. He praised the state police force for their exceptional performance in maintaining security across the state.
“The state is responsible for maintaining security, and our police force excels in fulfilling this duty,”
-Adityanath declared while launching the upgraded police response vehicles (PRVs) in the second phase of the UP-112 initiative from his official residence.
Adityanath acknowledged the long-standing demand for modernizing the police force to align with contemporary needs.
“The rule of law is fundamental to good governance, and ensuring a secure and safe environment in the state is crucial,”
-he emphasized.
During his address, the chief minister reflected on a significant directive from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“At the DG conference, Prime Minister Narendra Modi outlined a new vision for directors general of police nationwide, emphasizing legal reforms and smart policing. He advocated for a balance of being strict yet sensitive, modern and mobile, alert and accountable, reliable and responsive, techno-savvy, and trend-oriented. The Uttar Pradesh Police have strived to fully implement these principles.”

As part of the event, Adityanath presented an air-conditioned helmet to a policeman, highlighting a new initiative aimed at improving the working conditions of police personnel. He mentioned that more such helmets will be distributed among the police force in the future.
The chief minister stressed that this initiative is a component of a broader campaign to elevate the seven-year process of smart policing in the state.
“In these seven years, the rule of law has been firmly established in UP. This adherence has made the police a symbol of respect and trust, ushering in an era of development and employment, and opening up new possibilities for investment and business in the state.”

The introduction of upgraded PRVs under the UP-112 initiative is expected to enhance the responsiveness and efficiency of the police force, ensuring quicker and more effective law enforcement. This modernization is a step towards realizing the vision of smart policing, which integrates technological advancements and innovative strategies to improve public safety and trust.

Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, has proudly highlighted the significant strides the state has made under his administration, particularly emphasizing the state’s economic growth and law enforcement advancements.
Speaking at a recent event, Adityanath asserted-
“With the establishment of the rule of law, UP has emerged as the second-largest economy in the country and is now swiftly positioning itself to become the nation’s largest economy.”
Adityanath attributed much of this progress to the state’s successful hosting of the Global Investors Summit and Ground Breaking Ceremony.
“Uttar Pradesh has set an example for how Global Investors Summits and Ground Breaking Ceremonies should be conducted.”
-he noted.
He further stressed the transparent and fair process in police recruitment, stating-
“Police officers were recruited through a transparent and non-discriminatory process.”
In a bid to enhance public safety and service efficiency, the chief minister outlined the improvements made to the state’s emergency response system.
“Efforts have been made to decrease the response time of UP-112 and increase the number of PRV-112 vehicles in the state.”
-Adityanath explained.
He highlighted the addition of two-wheelers to the fleet, which has allowed police response vehicles (PRVs) to access narrower streets and localities, improving their ability to serve the public effectively.
“Over the past seven years, two-wheelers have also been introduced, allowing PRVs to access streets and localities more effectively to serve the public.”
– he added.
Reflecting on the challenges posed by the COVID-19 lockdown, Adityanath praised the dedication of the UP Police.
“During the COVID-19 lockdown, UP Police’s PRV-112 gained significant attention. The dedication of the police force was evident, with two-wheelers reaching areas inaccessible to four-wheelers.”
-he said.
The chief minister also shared details about the government’s ambitious three-year programme aimed at expanding the police vehicle fleet.
“The government has launched an ambitious three-year program to expand the fleet by adding 6,278 new four-wheelers and two-wheelers. This year, 1,778 vehicles will be added to the fleet.”
-Adityanath announced.
In addition to these advancements, Adityanath commended the Kanpur traffic police for their innovative approach to improving officers’ working conditions.
“The Kanpur traffic police have made commendable efforts to introduce air-conditioned helmets.”
– he said.
These specialized helmets, produced by a Hyderabad-based company with support from Afcons Infrastructure through their CSR activities for the Kanpur Metro project, aim to enhance the comfort and efficiency of the traffic police.

“The introduction of air-conditioned helmets will assist the traffic police in carrying out their duties effectively.”
