NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court of India witnessed changes in 2025, with three Chief Justices of India (CJI) serving in one year. The current CJI, Sanjeev Khanna, is set to retire in May 2025.

Justice BR Gavai is expected to take over as the next CJI, becoming the second Dalit judge to hold this prestigious position. His tenure will end in November 2025.
