THANE: Recently, The court has denied the application for anticipatory bail filed by Vaibhav Ganpat Gaikwad, marking a significant juncture in a case of considerable public interest. Vaibhav, the son of BJP MLA Ganpat Gaikwad, has been under investigation after a serious incident at the Ulhasnagar police station last month.
The incident happened on February 2 and has been under heavy investigation and discussion.
According to police reports, Ganpat Gaikwad, a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Vaibhav’s father, allegedly used violence during a land dispute, targeting Mahesh Gaikwad, a leader from the Eknath Shinde-led faction of the Shiv Sena. The situation escalated to gunfire at the Ulhasnagar police station and has turned into a major legal and political issue.

Vaibhav Gaikwad has become ensnared in a contentious situation, prompting his legal representatives to pursue anticipatory bail on his behalf. In the proceedings at the Kalyan court, his counsel vehemently contended that the allegations leveled against Vaibhav lack merit and are merely a byproduct of his familial association with his father.
They emphasized purported irregularities evident in the CCTV footage, positing a plausible orchestration of events by the legal team representing Mahesh Gaikwad, with the apparent intent of unjustly inculpating Vaibhav.
Despite the arguments presented, Judge SG Inamdar of the Additional District and Sessions Court made a decision that would significantly impact the case’s trajectory. Following a comprehensive review of both the defense’s claims and the public prosecutor’s counterarguments, Judge Inamdar ruled against granting anticipatory bail to Vaibhav Gaikwad.
Notably, Vaibhav’s father, MLA Ganpat Gaikwad, is presently held in Navi Mumbai’s Taloja jail.
