Today, On 24th June, The Rajasthan High Court issued a notice to the Centre and the National Testing Agency (NTA) in response to a petition demanding the cancellation and retest of the NEET-UG exam. The petition raises concerns about alleged irregularities and seeks a fresh examination for the medical entrance test.
Jaipur: The Rajasthan High Court took action in response to petitions filed regarding alleged irregularities in the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test for Undergraduate (NEET-UG) medical entrance exam.
The court issued notices to the National Testing Agency (NTA) and the central government, directing them to provide their responses to the petitions.
The court scheduled a hearing in this matter on July 10, which is two days after the Supreme Court set to hear similar petitions. These petitions include requests for the cancellation of the NEET-UG 2024 exam and a court-supervised investigation into the matter.
Justice Ashok Kumar Jain of the High Court issued notices to the National Testing Agency (NTA) and the central government, requesting their responses. According to Rampratap Saini, the counsel for the petitioners, the court deemed the issue serious and set the hearing for July 10.
Four petitions reviewed by the High Court today. The petitioners calling for the cancellation of the entrance exam and a retest, citing alleged irregularities in the exam conducted on May 5.
In their plea, the candidates have requested the Rajasthan High Court to order an independent investigation into these alleged irregularities and to mandate a fresh round of examinations to ensure a level playing field for all aspirants. The court’s notice to the Centre and NTA seeks their responses to these allegations and the feasibility of conducting a retest.
The NEET-UG, a highly competitive examination, and any discrepancies can significantly impact the future of thousands of students.
