Tollywood superstar Allu Arjun approached the Andhra Pradesh High Court seeking to dismiss a case filed against him. The case stems from his involvement in an election rally in support of former MLA Shilpa Ravichandra, which allegedly breached election regulations. Both Arjun and the ex-MLA are accused of violating the code of conduct during the event.

Tollywood star Allu Arjun and former MLA Shilpa Ravichandra Kishore Reddy moved the Andhra Pradesh High Court to quash a case filed against them in connection with an election rally held in Nandyal during the general elections in May 2024.

The case pertains to Arjun’s surprise appearance at a campaign event supporting Ravichandra, which allegedly violated election protocols by assembling a large crowd without proper permission.

The FIR, lodged on May 11, 2024, accuses both Arjun and Ravichandra of violating the Election Code and certain provisions of the Andhra Pradesh Police Act, including sections related to disobeying public servant orders, which could potentially incite public disorder or riot.

Arjun, accompanied by his wife Sneha Reddy, visited Nandyal on May 11, 2024, to show support for Ravichandra’s election campaign. His unexpected presence caused a stir among fans, resulting in a large, spontaneous gathering.

The FIR claims that this crowd assembly violated election regulations, as prior approval for such an event was not obtained.

Both Arjun and Ravichandra filed a petition in the High Court seeking to invalidate the FIR registered at the Nandyal police station. Along with the main quash petition, Arjun also filed an Interlocutory Application requesting the court to halt any further proceedings in the case, including his potential arrest. He is seeking legal protection from arrest as part of this plea.

The Andhra Pradesh High Court accepted their petition and is expected to hear the case soon, with proceedings likely to begin tomorrow.

This case has drawn significant public attention, largely due to Allu Arjun’s immense popularity as a Tollywood star. Known for his blockbuster movies like Pushpa, Arjun enjoys a massive fan base, and his presence at political events often attracts large crowds. While his visit to Nandyal aimed at supporting a friend and political ally, it has now become a legal issue that could have wider implications for celebrity involvement in political campaigns in the future.

With the court’s hearing scheduled soon, all eyes are on the Andhra Pradesh High Court to see how the legal battle unfolds and whether Arjun and Ravichandra can successfully quash the charges against them.
