The Kerala High Court directed the Travancore Devaswom Board’s auditor to suggest measures to correct financial discrepancies found in the accounts of the Global Ayyappa Sangamam event.
The Court noted missing documents, unexplained budget changes, and concerns over financial discipline in the Board’s spending.
The Kerala High Court has ordered the Travancore Devaswom Board to submit full financial records and bank statements related to the 2025 Global Ayyappa Sangamam at Sabarimala. The Court has also directed the independent auditor to produce all primary documents amid concerns over irregularities.
The Kerala High Court has denied bail to three accused, including former Travancore Devaswom Board president A Padmakumar, in the Sabarimala gold theft case. The Court noted the serious allegations of misappropriation of nearly 4 kg of temple gold during repair works.
The Kerala High Court, while hearing bail pleas in the Sabarimala gold theft case, suggested that the State enact a special law with penal provisions to protect Devaswom and temple properties. The Court said existing manuals only lead to disciplinary action and are not enough to curb repeated misappropriation of temple assets.
Kerala’s vigilance court rejected former TDB president N Vasu’s bail plea in the Sabarimala gold loss case. The SIT, monitored by the Kerala High Court, has arrested six people so far, including two former TDB chiefs.

Today, On 19th November, The Kerala High Court criticised the poor crowd control at Sabarimala, noting that the situation went out of control due to a complete lack of proper coordination among officials. The court demanded immediate corrective measures from the administration.
Kerala High Court has permitted the SIT to collect gold samples and inspect the Sreekovil door amid allegations of massive gold misappropriation at Sabarimala temple. The court said, “The investigation must reach everyone who was part of the gold theft, directly or indirectly.”
The Kerala High Court ruled that the appointment of santhis (temple priests) cannot be restricted to a specific caste or ancestry. Such caste-based or lineage restrictions do not qualify as essential religious practices under the Constitution of India.
