Today, On 7th July, The Supreme Court questioned the DMK over its plea in the Karur stampede case involving Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay and the ruling TVK. The Court asked, “You want the Supreme Court to dictate what a chief minister should do?”
The Supreme Court agreed to hear an application alleging Tamil Nadu ministers accused in the Karur stampede case are influencing witnesses during the CBI investigation. The Bench listed the matter for July 8 after being informed of fresh developments requiring judicial intervention in the ongoing probe.
The Karnataka High Court received sealed documents regarding the M Chinnaswamy Stadium stampede that killed 11 people. Advocate General Shashi Kiran Shetty assured the court an English translation would be ready in two days. This submission marks an important step in the legal proceedings surrounding the incident, highlighting its seriousness.
