Today, On 2nd May, Karnataka High Court has rejected a plea by Prajwal Revanna’s mother to delay his rape trial, stating the request to allow him time to appoint a new lawyer is not a valid ground for deferment.
The Supreme Court of India criticized the Kerala High Court for quashing FIRs against a teacher accused of sexually harassing students, stating the case must proceed under the POCSO Act. The Court emphasized the need for a trial due to significant evidence and concerns for victims, ordering the accused’s suspension and proper victim protection.

Revanna’s bail plea was previously rejected, with arguments for reconsideration ongoing, despite objections from the state prosecutor regarding his status as the main accused.

The petitioner argues this action violated a prior ruling mandating proper notice before demolitions, alleging political motivation behind the decision.

Jayasankaran Nambiar stated that individuals receiving summons can inform authorities if they choose not to proceed. However, repeated notices may be sent due to uncertainty in receipt confirmation. The court emphasized that anyone facing harassment or coercion can seek legal relief.
