The Calcutta High Court directed the West Bengal government to file a detailed status report on 11 criminal cases against TMC MLA Dilip Mondal, arrested over allegations including provocative speeches and criminal intimidation, while hearing his plea seeking quashing of the criminal proceedings initiated against him.
Uttar Bhartiya Vikas Sena chief Sunil Shukla has moved the Bombay High Court seeking police protection, SIT probe, and action against Raj Thackeray’s MNS for alleged hate speech and threats. The plea follows claims of violence and intimidation against north Indians.
On Friday(on 14th June),Delhi Lt. Governor V.K. Saxena has sanctioned the prosecution of author Arundhati Roy and former Kashmir professor Sheikh Showkat Hussain under the UAPA for allegedly making provocative speeches at a 2010 event. The FIR was registered based on the Court of Metropolitan Magistrate’s orders, according to Raj Niwas officials.
