Siya Goyal and her friend Chetan Chaudhary, accused of murdering her fiancé Ketan Agarwal at Pune’s Lohagad Fort, were remanded to police custody till June 29. The court granted custody to enable further investigation into the alleged conspiracy and murder.
A special court in Mumbai acquitted all accused in the 2006 murder case of Maharashtra Congress leader Pawanraje Nimbalkar after a 20-year trial. The case involved former NCP MP Padamsinh Patil and others accused in the killing near Kalamboli, Navi Mumbai.
The Beed special court has rejected Vishnu Chate’s plea for discharge in the murder of sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh, stating he “appears to have been a member of the organised crime syndicate and was involved in continuing unlawful activities.” Chate had claimed insufficient grounds for charges, but the court found prima facie evidence against him.
