The Bombay High Court, Kolhapur Circuit Bench, has rejected under Order VII Rule 11 CPC the election petition filed by Vinayak Bhaurao Raut challenging Narayan Tatu Rane’s 2024 Lok Sabha victory from Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg, holding that the corrupt practice averments lacked material particulars under Section 83(1) of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, though defects in affidavit, verification and translation were curable.
