MP High Court: Lawyer’s Failure To Advise On Remedy Can Be ‘Sufficient Cause’ To Condone Delay

The Madhya Pradesh High Court has held that where a litigant wholly depends on his lawyer, the lawyer’s failure to advise him to seek the available remedy can amount to sufficient cause for condoning delay. It condoned a 1093-day delay on payment of Rs 50,000 costs and remanded the matter.

The PIL filed by Sikh groups raised concerns about the movie. The Court dismissed the petition but instructed the CBFC to address the objections.
