Jharkhand High Court slammed the state for failing to hold municipal polls despite orders and issued contempt notices to senior IAS officers. The court warned of framing charges for “willful disobedience.”
The Jharkhand High Court criticised the railway police for summoning a lawyer defending an accused. It said, “Summoning of advocate by investigating officer is disturbing,” and emphasised that client-lawyer communication is privileged under law.
Today, On 5th May, The Supreme Court strongly criticised the Jharkhand High Court for delaying verdicts in criminal cases and directed all High Courts to submit status reports, stating, “This cannot be allowed to happen in a judicial system.”
