Today, On 7th July, The Supreme Court questioned the DMK over its plea in the Karur stampede case involving Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay and the ruling TVK. The Court asked, “You want the Supreme Court to dictate what a chief minister should do?”
The CBI has taken charge of the Karur stampede investigation that claimed 41 lives during Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam rally. The Supreme Court has ordered an impartial probe under a panel led by ex-Justice Ajay Rastogi.
Former SC Justice Ajay Rastogi emphasized the importance of public morality and suggested that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal should resign following his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate. Rastogi highlighted legal aspects, prison regulations, and the moral obligation for government officials in custody. Kejriwal was arrested for alleged money laundering related to the Delhi liquor policy.
