The Calcutta High Court has halted further demolition of the building housing TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee’s MP office. Justice Raja Basu Chowdhury directed that the interim protection will continue until the next hearing or the end of July 2026, whichever is earlier.
The Madhya Pradesh High Court restored AITC MP Abhishek Banerjee’s petition challenging an arrest warrant issued in a criminal defamation case and agreed to examine the matter further. The Court also stayed execution of the warrant until further orders, providing interim relief to the Trinamool Congress leader.
The Calcutta High Court is examining the legality of recognising rebel TMC MLA Ritabrata Banerjee as Leader of Opposition in the West Bengal Assembly. Hearing Sobhandeb Chattopadhyay’s challenge, the Court directed that the Speaker’s recognition order be placed on record and scheduled further hearing for June 16.
