The Calcutta High Court has halted further demolition of the building housing TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee’s MP office. Justice Raja Basu Chowdhury directed that the interim protection will continue until the next hearing or the end of July 2026, whichever is earlier.
The Madras High Court allowed Tamil Nadu to issue compassionate appointment orders to families of the 41 Karur stampede victims but directed that the jobs remain temporary, subject to the outcome of pending proceedings. The Court declined to interfere with the government’s policy decision at this stage.
The Bombay High Court directed the Centre and Maharashtra government to keep investigation reports on threats and an alleged attack against retired Justice Gautam Patel confidential. The Court ordered sealed preservation of reports, noting the matter relates to threats allegedly linked to a judicial verdict.
