The Bombay High Court at Goa has asked the Election Commission why its software rejects Form 8 address-change applications outright during the Special Intensive Revision, on a plea by the Salgaonkar family whose names were dropped from the draft roll. The ECI says the family never filed enumeration forms and had a remedy under Form 6.
The Supreme Court has asked the Election Commission to respond to a plea questioning why Assam received only a special revision instead of a Special Intensive Revision of its electoral rolls. The petition alleges discrimination and warns that lakhs of illegal immigrants may remain on Assam’s voter list.
