Activist Sonam Wangchuk told the Supreme Court that despite winning 30 nation-building awards and openly opposing violence, he is being portrayed as a criminal under the National Security Act. His wife has challenged the detention, arguing that key videos showing his appeal for peace were withheld from the defence.
Today(12th Sept), The Supreme Court ruled that individuals detained under preventive laws must receive all essential materials relied upon by authorities for their detention. However, documents referenced only in passing need not be provided.
