This week (26th February): The Supreme Court has been directed to investigate an alleged scam surrounding a “10-day MBA Course” associated with Vivek Bindra’s company. The directive follows a petition seeking a probe into fraudulent activities by the enterprise.
NEW DELHI: This week (February 26): The Supreme Court has initiated proceedings on a plea requesting an investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) into purported fraudulent activities associated with Dr. Vivek Bindra, a well-known motivational speaker, and his venture, Bada Business Private Limited.

The bench, comprising Justice MM Sundresh and Justice SVN Bhatti, issued notices to the CBI, ED, Union government, and 13 state governments on February 26, 2024.
The petition draws attention to what it deems one of the most significant scams in the digital era, involving deceit and fraud facilitated through social media channels. Allegedly, individuals who invested in Bindra’s enterprise now seek accountability and justice for their financial losses.
According to the petition, Bindra attracted investments ranging from Rs 10,000 to Rs.1 lakh, enticing members of the public and economically disadvantaged individuals into a seemingly lucrative investment scheme. However, instead of receiving the promised training from renowned personalities, many individuals were allegedly coerced into becoming commission agents, tasked with promoting and selling the same course to others.

Background
The case is scheduled for further consideration on April 10, 2024. The petitioners, led by Shubham Chaudhary, were represented by Senior Advocate Vikas Singh along with a team of advocates.
Furthermore, a public dispute has emerged between Bindra and fellow motivational speaker Sandeep Maheshwari since December 11, 2023, when a video titled ‘Big Scam Exposed’ was released. Though not explicitly naming Bindra, social media users associated the allegations with him. The video alleged Bindra’s involvement in a scam related to a “10-day MBA course,” garnering millions of views within days of its release.
Maheshwari later claimed he faced intimidation to retract the video, alleging harassment at his residence. Bindra, on the other hand, refused the accusations and responded with a video on his YouTube channel.
Recent legal actions include a court in Haryana restraining both parties from posting defamatory content against each other on any platform. Earlier, the Delhi High Court had similarly restrained Bindra from disseminating defamatory or disparaging material against Maheshwari.
