[BREAKING] Supreme Court Bar Association Introduces 2024 Group Mediclaim Policy for Advocate Voters, Effective May 5, 2025

The policy, applicable to members who participated in the SCBA Elections 2024, will come into effect from Monday, 5th May 2025.

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) has officially launched its Group Mediclaim Policy 2025 in collaboration with National Insurance Company Limited, aimed at providing comprehensive health insurance coverage to its members.

The policy, applicable to members who participated in the SCBA Elections 2024, will come into effect from Monday, 5th May 2025.

Members are invited to verify and confirm their insurance coverage by completing the enrollment process on or before Wednesday, 30th April 2025. The base insurance coverage of Rs.2 lakhs per advocate is free of cost, with the premium of Rs. 35,400 (including GST) paid by the SCBA.

For those wishing to opt for a higher coverage, SCBA has provided top-up options as follows:

Additional premium payments must be transferred to the SCBA account with Bank of Maharashtra, and members should email proof of payment to scbaecinfo@gmail.com.

The policy offers extensive benefits for members and their families under a floater model:

  • Pre-existing diseases covered from Day 1
  • Maternity benefits from Day 1 (Rs. 50,000 each for normal and C-section deliveries)
  • Room Rent: 2% of sum insured
  • ICU Rent: 4% of sum insured
  • Age limit: Coverage from 1 to 90 years
  • Family Size: Self + Spouse + 2 dependent kids (up to 25 years) + 2 dependent parents/in-laws up to 90 years
  • Copayment: 10% for parents/in-laws
  • OPD and diagnostic expenses, dental, and health check-ups covered
  • Cashless treatment across 15,000+ hospitals on PAN India basis
  • Post-hospitalization expenses covered up to 60 days
  • Mental health illnesses, COVID-related care, organ transplants, and critical illness coverage included

Important Instructions

  • Once enrollment is completed, no changes can be made.
  • Members must validate and update their family data before submission. No further edits will be allowed unless it involves a newly married spouse or a newborn child.
  • Confirmation emails will be sent after successful submission.

Enrollment Steps

  1. Visit the link provided on the SCBA notice (also available at emedshield.com enrollment portal).
  2. Validate member and family details.
  3. Submit the form after corrections and verification.
  4. Receive confirmation email upon successful enrollment.
