NEW DELHI: The delegates had the privilege of receiving guidance from the senior registrars of the Supreme Court of India’s registry, who not only explained the intricacies of these systems but also demonstrated their enhanced transparency, efficiency, and accessibility. The training initiative aimed to strengthen the bilateral relationship between India and Sri Lanka, emphasizing their mutual commitment to judicial excellence and technological innovation.
Under the able guidance of the esteemed Chief Justice of India, DY Chandrachud, the training cell of the Supreme Court enthusiastically supported this initiative. The program not only facilitated knowledge sharing but also fostered collaboration with international judicial entities. This exchange of expertise and ideas showcased the commitment of both nations towards embracing technological advancements in the field of law.

The Sri Lankan officials were particularly impressed by the level of transparency and accessibility achieved through this project. They expressed their optimism about implementing similar technological advancements in the Sri Lankan Supreme Court, which would result in enhanced efficiency, reduced paperwork, and improved access to justice for the citizens.
According to another delegate, the e-courts project highlighted during the training session is a game-changer.
It has significantly revolutionized court operations in India. We are enthusiastic about exploring the feasibility of implementing such a system in our own Supreme Court in Sri Lanka. This would undoubtedly enhance the dispensation of justice and simplify legal proceedings.”
