Today, On 10th February, The Supreme Court once again postponed the hearing on the case related to primary job aspirants, leaving their future uncertain. Many candidates are waiting for a final decision on their recruitment. The delay added to their frustration and anxiety. The next hearing is scheduled to take place after two weeks.

New Delhi: The Supreme Court postponed the hearing regarding the 2022 primary teacher recruitment case, rescheduling it for two weeks from now. Originally set for Monday, the hearing will involve a bench comprising Justice P. S. Narasimha and Justice Manoj Misra.

The court instructed the Primary Education Board to submit an affidavit detailing the current status of the recruitment process. While 11,758 primary teacher positions were initially available, only 9,533 candidates have been recruited so far, leaving 2,800 vacancies unfilled.

The hearing aims to assess the eligibility of candidates for these remaining positions.

During the proceedings, the Supreme Court requested a comprehensive affidavit from the Primary Education Board regarding the recruitment status. Furthermore, the court mandated that petitioners be divided into three distinct groups based on their claims.

On the same day, the Supreme Court will also address the case concerning the cancellation of 26,000 SSC recruitments, scheduled for 2 PM.

The Calcutta High Court cancelled the entire teacher recruitment panel in 2016 due to irregularities, rendering all appointments under this panel illegal and affecting many individuals who had been employed for years.

Those impacted by this decision have since appealed to the Supreme Court.

In the previous session, lawyer and CPM MP Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya contended that the entire recruitment panel should be dissolved and that fresh examinations should be held. His position has sparked dissent within his own party, as numerous affected candidates feel that such legal maneuvers only complicate the judicial process further.

The upcoming court decision is eagerly anticipated as it may bring resolution to this ongoing dispute.

In 2022, the West Bengal Board of Primary Education (WBBPE) started the process of recruiting 11,758 primary teachers. However, many candidates alleged that the recruitment process was not fair and had irregularities. They claimed that undeserving candidates got jobs while deserving ones were left out.

As a result, some candidates filed a case in court, demanding a fair investigation. The matter reached the Calcutta High Court, which ordered a review of the recruitment process. However, many selected candidates had already joined their jobs, creating confusion and protests.

The case was later taken to the Supreme Court, where candidates are fighting for justice some to save their jobs, and others to get a fair chance. The Supreme Court now postponed the hearing, and the next date is set for two weeks later.
