He requested the Court to fix the error, revise the result, and stop the ongoing counselling process for now.

The matter came before a bench of Justice PS Narasimha and Justice R Mahadevan. They listened carefully to what the student had to say. However, the judges said that a similar case had already come to the Court earlier.
“A similar matter has already been dismissed.”
-Top Court asserted
The lawyer who represented the student said that this case was not like the earlier one. He explained that the problem was related to a particular question in the NEET paper.
“The issue I’m raising relates specifically to Question No. 136, which had four answer options.”

The Court then gave a strong reply. The judges said that this kind of problem does not affect only one person, but lakhs of students who take such competitive exams.

They also added that the Court cannot interfere in these large-scale exams.
“That case was identical. While we acknowledge that there could be multiple correct answers, intervening in an examination taken by lakhs of candidates isn’t justified this isn’t just about one individual.”
-Court
Even after this, the student’s lawyer tried to convince the judges. He said that this error could affect many students, not just the one who filed the petition. He also reminded the judges that in 2024, the Supreme Court had ordered a revision of results when there was a similar mistake in the NEET exam.
“This concerns the future of many students—it’s not just about one individual. A large number of students could be impacted. In 2024, this Court had directed a revision of results in a similar situation.”
-petitioner
After hearing all arguments, the bench gave a polite reply to the lawyer.
“Thank you.”
-Bench replied
The lawyer then made another request. He said that the Court should form a special committee to look into the mistake in the answer key.
He also claimed that he had submitted the correct answer, and the official answer key was clearly wrong.
“I’m requesting the formation of a committee. I’ve provided the correct answer, and there’s a clear and obvious error in the official answer key.”
-petitioner
But the Court stood firm.
The judges clearly said that they cannot handle issues related to individual questions in such massive entrance exams.
“We can’t tackle individual examinations”
-Court while dismissing the petition
In the end, the Supreme Court decided to dismiss the petition and did not grant any of the requests made by the student.
