The petition has been filed against Congress, its senior leader Rahul Gandhi and party president Mallikarjun Kharge, demanding cancellation of the party’s registration as a political entity.
The PIL claims that Congress’ campaign is not just political propaganda but also an attempt to weaken the constitutional authority of the Election Commission.
According to the plea, this act of Congress is a-
“Direct attack on the sanctity of the democratic process.”
Meanwhile, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi made sharp remarks during his campaign in Bihar.

He said on Thursday that:
“The opposition alliance ‘India’ will not allow the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to take away the voting rights of the people of Bihar by colluding with the Election Commission.”
Despite heavy rain in Munger, on the fifth day of Congress’ ‘Voter Rights Yatra’, Rahul Gandhi strongly attacked the BJP.
He said,
“Vote theft is an attack on the Constitution.”
The political heat in Bihar has sharply increased as the assembly elections are nearing. Opposition parties have been continuously alleging that the BJP is trying to remove names from the voter list in order to influence the election process. These allegations have made the debate even more intense.
Once again, Rahul Gandhi repeated his charge and said,
“India alliance will not allow BJP to snatch people’s right to vote.”
The Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha also directly accused BJP and said,
“By starting Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter list in Bihar, BJP is stealing votes through Election Commission. Opposition alliance ‘India’ will not allow BJP to snatch people’s right to vote.”
Rahul Gandhi went even further and alleged that in the last general elections too, the BJP had manipulated results. He claimed,
“BJP had manipulated the results of the last Lok Sabha elections and Election Commission had added one lakh fake voters in Bangalore Central seat.”
He also reminded the people of Bihar about the importance of a transparent election process. Gandhi said that a clean voter list is the cornerstone of free and fair elections. He appealed to citizens not to ignore this issue, stressing that all other rights depend on their right to vote.
Thus, on one side, Congress is facing a serious PIL in the Supreme Court over its campaign, while on the other hand, Rahul Gandhi is continuing his aggressive attacks on BJP, making ‘vote theft’ a central theme of the Bihar elections.
