Supreme Court Issues Notice: “Chief Justice to Not Hold Court Today (March 3)”

Today, On 3rd March, The Supreme Court of India announced that the Chief Justice will not be holding court on March 3, 2025, leading to the cancellation of the Chief Justice’s Bench, which includes Justice Sanjay Kumar, and the postponement of all listed matters for the day. However, Justice Sanjay Kumar will handle Single Judge Bench/Chamber matters in Court No.10 at 10:30 a.m. as per a separate list. The notice, issued by the Deputy Registrar on March 2, 2025, aims to inform all concerned parties about the schedule change.

New Delhi: The Supreme Court of India announced that the Chief Justice will not be holding court on March 3, 2025 (Monday). Consequently, the sitting of the Chief Justice’s Court, which includes the Chief Justice and Hon’ble Justice Sanjay Kumar, is canceled for that day.

Matters scheduled before this Bench will not be heard on that date.

In light of this change, Justice Sanjay Kumar will address Single Judge Bench/Chamber matters in Court No. 10 at 10:30 a.m. on the same day.

The cases to be heard will follow a separate list issued by the Supreme Court.

This announcement was made via an official notice from the Deputy Registrar of the Supreme Court (DEU-II/Listing) on March 2, 2025. The notice serves to inform all relevant parties, including legal professionals, litigants, and court staff, about the alteration in the court schedule in advance.

This decision may affect hearings and proceedings that were set for the Chief Justice’s Bench. Affected parties are advised to review the updated court listings and adjust their matters accordingly.
