YouTuber Jasbir Singh, linked to a Pakistan-backed spy network, has been arrested. A Mohali court has sent him to 3-day police custody for interrogation.
Mohali (Punjab): Today, on June 4, Jasbir Singh, a YouTuber from Punjab who runs the channel “Jaan Mahal”, has been sent to 3-day police custody by a court in Mohali for his alleged involvement in a Pakistan-backed spying network.
The case is being handled by the State Special Operations Cell (SSOC), and DSP Pawan Sharma confirmed the court’s decision.

Jasbir Singh has been linked to a man named Shakir, also known as Jutt Randhawa, who is a Person of Indian Origin (PIO) and is believed to be part of a terror-funded espionage network.
According to the Punjab Police DGP,
“Singh, a resident of Village Mahlan, Rupnagar, who operates a YouTube channel called ‘Jaan Mahal’, has been found associated with PIO Shakir, alias Jutt Randhawa, part of a terror-backed espionage network.”
Further investigations show that Jasbir Singh was also in regular contact with Haryana-based YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra, who was previously arrested for spying, and a Pakistani national named Ehsan-ur-Rahim, also known as Danish.
Danish was earlier expelled from the Pakistan High Commission in India due to similar allegations.
The DGP added,
“He also maintained close contact with Haryana-based YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra who was earlier arrested for alleged spying and Ehsan-ur-Rahim alias Danish, a Pakistani national and expelled Pak High Commission official.”
Police have also revealed that Jasbir Singh had attended the Pakistan National Day event in Delhi on the invitation of Danish. During the event, Jasbir reportedly met officials from the Pakistani Army and vloggers.
The Punjab Police said in a post on X (formerly Twitter),
“Investigations have revealed that Jasbir attended the Pakistan National Day event in Delhi on Danish’s invitation, where he met Pakistani Army officials and vloggers. He travelled to Pakistan on three occasions (2020, 2021, 2024), and his electronic devices contained multiple Pakistan-based numbers, now under detailed forensic scrutiny.”
After the arrest of Jyoti Malhotra, Jasbir allegedly tried to delete all communication records with the suspected spies to hide his connections and avoid being caught.
An FIR has now been registered against him at the SSOC office in Mohali.
Meanwhile, Jyoti Malhotra, who is from Haryana, had earlier been arrested for allegedly sharing confidential information with foreign agents. On May 26, she was sent to 14-day judicial custody by the court.
She was accused of being in continuous contact with a Pakistani citizen and meeting him in Delhi.
The Pakistani national, Ahsan-ur-Rahim alias Danish, allegedly met her at the Pakistan High Commission in Delhi in 2023 when she visited to apply for a visa.
After that, she reportedly traveled to Pakistan twice and continued to stay in touch with him.
A senior police officer confirmed this.
“The YouTuber was arrested for allegedly sharing sensitive information and being in continuous contact with a Pakistani citizen,” and “She allegedly met a Pakistani officer, Ahsan-ur-Rahim, in Delhi, travelled to Pakistan twice, and shared sensitive information. During the preliminary investigation, the woman told the police that she went to the Pakistan High commission in Delhi in 2023 to apply for a visa and met a man named Ahsan-ur-Rahim, alias Danish.”
Following her arrest, the CID Crime Branch has been checking the facts. Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sarthak Sarangi said,
“We have just received information that YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra visited Puri’s Jagannath temple and posted a video regarding it on Instagram. She also visited Chilika and Konark. She was in touch with a YouTuber from Odisha. We are verifying all the facts. We are in touch with our counterparts in Haryana regarding Jyoti Malhotra.”
