New Delhi: The Rouse Avenue court in Delhi recorded the testimony of the main witness on Thursday in the case involving allegations of sexual harassment against former BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.
The statement was taken in a closed courtroom setting.
Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) Vaibhav Chaurasia oversaw the recording of the victim’s evidence, with Additional Public Prosecutor (APP) Atul Srivastava representing the Delhi police.

The witness arrived at the court before 2 PM, and her statement was recorded for approximately two and a half hours. Advocates Rajiv Mohan, Rishabh Bhati, and Rehan Khan represented the accused.
The court scheduled another session for November 26 to continue recording her testimony.
The witness, who was summoned by the court on November 4 for her examination, was a key participant in the women’s wrestlers’ protest at Jantar Mantar in January 2023 and is one of the complainants in this case. The court noted that a previously summoned witness did not appear because she is currently out of the country for a wrestling championship lasting two months.
Defense counsel Rajiv Mohan argued that this witness should not be called, as she is the author of the FIR. Additionally, the Delhi police dropped another witness, coach Jagbeer Singh, from the case on October 19.
