She added,
“Who records a video of someone being beaten? The truth will come out once the house and room CCTV footage is reviewed. Sink to any depth you want; God is watching. One day, everyone’s truth will be revealed to the world,”
Maliwal made reference to a brief video clip that supposedly shows her and security personnel at the residence of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, on May 13. Although the video become viral on social media, its authenticity yet to be confirmed.
The Delhi Police acknowledged the video’s existence but not yet verified it. Previously, based on a complaint filed by Swati Maliwal, the Delhi Police initiated a First Information Report (FIR) related to the incident. Disturbing details emerged from the FIR.
Maliwal‘s complaint alleges that Kejriwal’s personal secretary, Bibhav Kumar, ‘slapped’ her ‘at least seven to eight times’ while she continued to scream, and that he ‘brutally dragged’ her while kicking her in the ‘chest, stomach, and pelvis area.’ According to the FIR filed by the Delhi Police, Maliwal provides an account of the events that took place on May 13 when she visited Chief Minister Kejriwal’s residence in Civil Lines.
The FIR detailed Maliwal’s actions, stating,
“I entered the camp office and attempted to contact the Chief Minister’s Personal Secretary, Bibhav Kumar, but couldn’t gain entry. Subsequently, I messaged him on WhatsApp, but received no reply. Since Bibhav Kumar wasn’t there, I proceeded through the main door into the residential section, a route I have taken routinely over the past year. I informed the staff inside to notify the Chief Minister of my arrival to meet him.”
Maliwal further recounted,
“I was told that he was at home and was asked to wait in the drawing room. I then sat on the sofa in the drawing room and awaited his appearance.”
Maliwal recounted the incident, stating,
“He verbally assaulted me, questioning my right to disregard his commands. As he uttered these words, he approached and stood directly in front of me. Without any provocation from my end, he began striking me repeatedly with great force. I was slapped at least seven to eight times while I continuously screamed in shock, repeatedly crying out for help. In defence, I had to push him away using my legs.”
She continued and explained,
“I pleaded with him multiple times to release me due to the excruciating pain I was experiencing. Yet, he resumed his attack with unabated aggression. Eventually, I managed to break free. I then returned to the sofa in the drawing room, where I retrieved my glasses that had fallen during the assault. I was in profound shock and severely traumatized by the attack, prompting me to dial 112 and report the crime,”
The First Information Report (FIR) lodged, citing the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including IPC Sections 308 (Attempt to commit culpable homicide), 341 (Punishment for wrongful restraint), 354B (Assault or use of criminal force to woman with intent to disrobe), 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation), and 509 (Word, gesture, or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman).
