Tamil Nadu: A junior lawyer, Kannan, was stabbed outside the Hosur court in Krishnagiri district on Wednesday (November 20, 2024), allegedly by Anand Kumar, a 32-year-old court clerk.
The incident occurred in broad daylight as Kannan, who practices under a senior advocate, was leaving the court complex. Police reported that Anand Kumar followed Kannan outside, engaged in an argument, and then allegedly stabbed him with a knife. Kannan collapsed at the scene and was rushed by onlookers to a private hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
According to authorities, the altercation stemmed from allegations that Kannan had been stalking Anand Kumar’s wife, a lawyer practicing at the same court. In June, she reportedly filed a complaint with the All Women’s Police Station in Hosur. However, the matter was reportedly resolved with a warning to Kannan after intervention by the lawyers’ association.
