[Porsche Crash Case] Juvenile’s Parents and Co-Accused Detained by Police Until June 14

Yesterday, On 10th June, In the Porsche crash case, police have detained the juvenile’s parents and a co-accused until June 14. The arrests are part of ongoing investigations into the incident. Authorities are scrutinizing the involvement of all parties.

Pune: A court in Pune, On Monday, extended the police custody of the parents of the 17-year-old boy allegedly involved in the fatal Porsche car accident, as well as another accused in a case related to the destruction of evidence.

The boy’s mother arrested on June 1 after it was revealed that the boy’s blood samples replaced with hers. The boy’s father previously arrested for allegedly being involved in the destruction of evidence.

In addition to the juvenile’s parents, Ashpak Makandar, who acted as an intermediary between them and doctors from the state-run Sassoon General Hospital where the blood samples collected, was also produced before the court on Monday.

The prosecution requested an extension of police custody for the trio, stating the need to discover the disposal location of the juvenile’s blood samples.

They informed the court that Makandar received Rs. 4 lakh from the driver employed by the juvenile’s father. Out of this, Rs. 3 lakh handed over to the doctors and staff at Sassoon hospital to facilitate the replacement of the juvenile’s blood samples.

The investigating officer explained,

“Rs. 3 lakh has been retrieved from suspended casualty medical officer Dr. Srihari Halnor and former Sassoon hospital conservancy employee Atul Ghatkamble, but we still need to recover the remaining Rs. 1 lakh,”

The defence lawyer, Prashant Patil, opposed the request to extend the custody of the teen’s parents, arguing that they had already spent several days in police custody and there was no need for further interrogation.

Meanwhile, the stay of the minor boy at the observation home has been extended until June 12.

Additionally, the Pimpri-Chinchwad police filed a case against the juvenile’s father and four others for cheating at least 72 unit holders of the Nancy Brahma Housing Society in Bavdhan.

According to the complaint filed by Vishal Adsul, a resident of the society, the accused had built 11-story and 10-story buildings on the open space within the society premises without obtaining the necessary prior permission.

The complainant reported that the accused were supposed to finalize the conveyance deed, provide parking spaces, and hand over open plots to the society. Instead, they created three separate societies and misrepresented the amenity and open spaces on different maps.

Somnath Panchal, Assistant Inspector at Hinjewadi Police Station, stated,

“We have registered a case against the five accused and will seek the custody of the juvenile’s father from the Pune police.”

The case has been registered under Sections 420, 409, and 34 of the Indian Penal Code, as well as Sections 3, 7, 11, and 13 of the Maharashtra Ownership of Flats (Regulation of the Promotion, Construction, Sale, Management, and Transfer) Act, 1963 (MOFA).

Additionally, at least six cases have been filed against the juvenile’s father at various police stations in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad following the Porsche car accident case.
