Kerala: In the high-profile murder case of BJP leader and lawyer Ranjith Srinivasan, the Additional Sessions Court in Mavelikara, Kerala, has pronounced 15 individuals guilty. The case, which has garnered national attention since the brutal incident in December 2021, reached a pivotal moment as the court found substantial evidence against the accused, all linked to the organizations PFI-SDPI.
The court’s decision marks a critical juncture in the pursuit of justice for the late BJP leader. The prosecution, emphasizing the severity of the crime, has advocated for the maximum penalty for the convicts. Describing them as a “trained killer squad”, the prosecution highlighted the heinous nature of the murder, executed in the presence of Srinivasan’s mother, infant, and wife. This chilling detail underscores the prosecution’s argument that the crime falls into the category of the “rarest of the rare,” warranting the severest of sentences.
