CM Rekha Gupta inaugurates Ayushman Arogya Mandir at Tis Hazari, calling it a major healthcare milestone. She criticizes the previous AAP government for stalling the project for four years.

New Delhi: Today, on June 17, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta inaugurated a newly built Ayushman Arogya Mandir at the Tis Hazari Court Complex, calling it a historic moment and a significant step forward for public healthcare in the capital.
Speaking to the media after the inauguration, CM Rekha Gupta expressed that this development marks a new beginning in the city’s journey towards better healthcare.
She said,
“This is a very big milestone for Delhi, from where a new turning point starts in the journey of the people of Delhi. This is itself a big gift that Delhi has received through the work of the central government, which the previous government did not provide.”
Taking a sharp dig at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Gupta criticized the former government for delaying such important healthcare work for the people of Delhi.
She blamed the previous administration for ignoring the Ayushman Arogya Mandir project for nearly four years, saying that no genuine efforts were made to move the project forward.
She remarked,
“The previous government should have started this work four years ago but they never even entertained the thought of it… consider this as a big crime against the people of Delhi. We got only eight months to do this work…”
Drawing a contrast between her government’s initiative and the earlier government’s policies, CM Gupta emphasized that the newly launched Ayushman Arogya Mandirs are more advanced and permanent in nature as compared to Mohalla Clinics.

She added,
“This is very different from the Mohalla clinics that the previous government opened, which was nothing but a temporary structure. We want to provide the people of Delhi with the best of health facilities. The entire team is working on a mission that not a single penny made in the interest of Delhi is wasted.”
Alongside the Tis Hazari inauguration, Delhi Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa also opened another Ayushman Arogya Mandir at Budh Bazar Road, B Block, in Chaukhandi. He shared that this was part of a much larger rollout plan and highlighted the strong infrastructure in place.
Sirsa informed,
“A total of 33 Arogya Mandirs have been inaugurated today, and they have excellent infrastructure.”
This recent wave of inaugurations aligns with the central government’s health mission under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme, aiming to provide free and quality healthcare services to the citizens, especially the underprivileged and elderly.
Earlier, on May 18, Delhi Minister Ashish Sood distributed Ayushman Bharat health cards to senior citizens above the age of 70 under the Pradhan Mantri Vay Vandana Yojana, at an event held in Janakpuri, West Delhi.
Speaking to ANI during the event, Minister Ashish Sood said, “Chief Minister Rekha Gupta started the distribution of Ayushman Bharat cards… We are ensuring that the beneficiaries get Ayushman Bharat cards so that they can avail its benefits…”
He also added that the initiative is being carried out under the guidance of the Prime Minister and that thousands of people have already received their cards.
“The Chief Minister started the distribution of Ayushman card in Delhi under the guidance of the Prime Minister. So far, we have prepared cards for thousands of people… we are providing the benefits of card facility along with the list of hospitals, so that they can benefit from it by visiting those hospitals.”
Sood urged the general public to increase awareness about the card, especially among the elderly and those residing in other states, so that they too can access the health benefits under the Ayushman Bharat scheme.
