The Mysuru District Court was evacuated after receiving a bomb threat via email, forcing authorities to halt court proceedings. A bomb disposal squad rushed to the spot and conducted a thorough search as a precautionary security measure.

Mysuru: The District Court in Mysuru received a bomb threat through an email on Tuesday, following which authorities immediately stopped court work and evacuated the entire premises as a safety measure, police said.

Judicial officers, lawyers, litigants and court staff were safely moved out of the court complex, and all proceedings were temporarily halted to ensure public safety.

Soon after the threat was reported, a bomb disposal squad was rushed to the court premises and carried out a detailed and thorough search of the entire complex. A senior police officer said security teams followed standard safety protocols while checking all areas of the court to rule out any danger.

In a separate incident, panic was reported at Mau railway junction after a phone call claimed that a bomb had been planted on the Kashi Express (15018 Down).

The train, which was travelling from Gorakhpur to Mumbai, was immediately evacuated as a precautionary step, and security agencies launched an intensive search operation.

Police officials said that the threat appeared to be a hoax, but all necessary safety measures were taken without delay. Efforts are currently underway to trace the source of the threatening call.

After receiving the information, police teams led by the Superintendent of Police and Additional Superintendent of Police Anoop Kumar rushed to the railway station, officials said.

Passengers were evacuated from the train and shifted to a safe location by a joint team of the local police, Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF).

Bomb disposal squads were pressed into service, and each coach of the train was carefully checked. As a precautionary step, platform number one and the surrounding areas of the railway station were cordoned off during the security operation.

Superintendent of Police Elamaran G said that the police control room received the call around 9.30 am, claiming that a bomb was present on the Kashi Express. Authorities later stated that no suspicious object was found during the searches, and further investigation is ongoing to identify those behind the false threat.

Both incidents caused temporary disruption but were handled swiftly by security agencies, ensuring the safety of the public and preventing panic.
