Patna, Bihar: On Friday, the Patna Civil Court received a bomb threat via email, which caused a major alert. After getting the threat, the police and security agencies quickly took action and increased the security inside and around the court premises.

At present, everyone visiting the court is being properly checked, and no one is allowed to enter the premises without strict verification.

Officials said that “Precautionary measures have been implemented within the court premises. No one is allowed to enter the court premises.”

So far, no suspicious objects have been found during the investigation. The Pirbahore police station team is present at the court, and senior police officials have also reached the spot.

The bomb squad has been informed, and they are currently searching the area. A dog squad has also been deployed as part of the high-level security arrangements.

Police said, “Police teams and a bomb squad have been alerted about the incident.”

This recent bomb scare has raised concerns about the safety of judicial premises, especially because a similar threat was also sent to the Gauhati High Court in Assam just three days ago. That threat mail also claimed that explosives were placed to blow up the entire court premises.

It was later found to be a hoax. The email was sent by an unknown group calling itself “Madras Tigers.” The identity and intentions of this group are still unclear.

Police sources said, “The mail was sent by one organisation that called itself ‘Madras Tigers’. Not much is known about it, though. The threat turned out to be a hoax.”

This is not the first time that such a threat has been issued in Patna. Earlier in January 2024, the Patna High Court also received a bomb threat email. That too had created panic, but was later found to be a false alarm.

Currently, security has been tightened not only in the court premises but across the entire city of Patna. The administration and police are taking the matter seriously and are continuing with the investigation to trace the origin of the threat mail.

People are being urged to stay calm and alert. Authorities have assured that there is no immediate danger, and all necessary precautions are being taken to ensure the safety of everyone.

Recently, The bomb threat was sent via email to the High Court bench. After receiving this alert, the High Court authorities quickly informed the local police department. In response, the police sent multiple teams to handle the situation carefully and securely.

Special teams including the bomb detection and disposal squadcyber crime unit, sniffer dog squad, the special branch, and local police officers were all involved in the search process. They checked every corner of the court building to ensure the safety of everyone inside. The search also included outdoor areas like the garden and parking lot to make sure no part of the premises was left unchecked.
