Businessman Nikhil Nanda and several officials are implicated in a case of fraud and abetment to suicide in Badaun, linked to the distress of a dealership owner who committed suicide.

Badaun: Businessman Nikhil Nanda, who is married to Amitabh Bachchan’s daughter, Shweta Bachchan, has landed in legal trouble after being named in a case registered in Uttar Pradesh’s Badaun district. Along with him, several officials from a tractor company have also been booked for fraud and abetment to suicide.
The case was filed after Gyanendra, a resident of Papad Hamzapure village, lodged a complaint at the Dataganj Police Station. According to Gyanendra, his brother Jitendra Singh, who owned a tractor agency named Jai Kisan Traders, was under immense pressure from company officials to boost sales.
The accused officials allegedly threatened to revoke Jitendra’s dealership license and auction his property if he failed to meet the targets. Among those named in the complaint are:
- Nikhil Nanda (CEO of the company)
- Ashish Baliyan (Area Manager)
- Sumit Raghav (Sales Manager)
- Dinesh Pant (UP Head)
- Pankaj Bhaskar (Financier Collection Officer)
- Amit Pant (Sales Manager)
- Neeraj Mehra (Sales Head)
- Shishant Gupta (Shahjahanpur Dealer)
According to Gyanendra, his brother Jitendra frequently expressed distress over the harassment he faced from the company officials. He alleged that on November 21, a group of officials visited the dealership again to pressurize Jitendra. Unable to cope with the ongoing stress, Jitendra died by suicide on November 22.

Despite the family’s initial complaint to the police, no action was taken, Gyanendra claimed. The case only gained traction after the matter was presented before the court.
With the details of the incident spreading rapidly, the police finally registered a case against Nikhil Nanda and other accused officials on the basis of a court order.
