The survivor has announced that she will approach the Supreme Court to challenge the High Court’s order granting Sengar conditional bail.
On Tuesday, a Delhi High Court bench comprising Justices Subramonium Prasad and Harish Vaidyanathan Shankar suspended Sengar’s sentence during the pendency of his appeal against the December 2019 trial court verdict. The court granted him bail on the condition that he furnish a personal bond of ₹15 lakh along with three sureties of the same amount.
The High Court also imposed restrictions, directing Sengar not to enter within a five-kilometre radius of the survivor’s residence and restraining him from contacting or threatening the survivor or her family.
Reacting to the order, the survivor told the media that the judgment had shattered her faith.
“I am not happy with this High Court judgment. I felt like ending my life, but then I thought about my children and my family. God has given me life, so I should fight for justice,”
she said.
She questioned the fairness of the legal process, pointing out that her uncle, whom she claims was falsely implicated in a decades-old case allegedly filed by Sengar’s brother, has been denied bail despite multiple applications.
“The one who raped me and got my father killed is getting bail. This means he is a powerful man with money,”
she said.
Making serious allegations, the survivor claimed that political influence played a role in the court’s decision. She alleged that BJP leader Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh had backed Sengar and accused powerful interests of influencing the outcome.
“I think they have bribed the judge. That is why this decision was taken. This is injustice. I will go to the Supreme Court,”
she told the media.

The survivor also alleged police misconduct during a recent protest near India Gate in Delhi. According to her, police personnel prevented her and her family from holding a dharna and used force despite her fragile medical condition.
“I have 250 stitches all over my body. Despite that, I was picked up improperly and thrown into a bus,”
she alleged.
She further claimed that social activist Yogita Bhayana, who accompanied her during the protest, was also detained and later released.
The survivor’s mother expressed grave concerns about their safety following Sengar’s release on bail. She alleged that their family had been repeatedly targeted in the past and claimed that their security cover had been withdrawn.
“They have tried to kill us several times. My husband was brutally killed, my brother-in-law is in jail, my sister-in-law and her sister were killed. They will kill us all,”
she said.
Expressing a loss of faith in the judiciary, she added:
“I do not trust the Delhi High Court anymore. How can such a powerful man accused of such a heinous crime be granted bail?”
